Water sitting in porous blonde occupies the same sites the pigment needs and dilutes the masque on contact, which gives a weaker, patchier deposit exactly at the ends. Comb through from mid-length down and take the roots last - regrowth is the least porous section and needs the shortest contact.

Ask ModaWill Honey Blonde make my blonde look brassy?
No. Brass is a raw orange cast, and this deposits a balanced sandy tone rather than pure warmth - Basic Brown 17 holds the result in sand rather than gold. If your hair already pulls orange, though, adding warmth will emphasise it. Tone with Cool Cream first, then use this.
I'm a cool level 8 and want warmth without a salon visit. Is three minutes enough to see anything?
Yes. Three minutes gives a visible shift on a level 8, because lightened hair is porous and takes cationic pigment quickly. Start there rather than at ten - you can always repeat next wash, but you cannot pull deposited pigment back out quickly once it has gone too far.
How is this different from Beige Blonde? Both list Basic Brown 17.
Yes, both carry it, but they use it in opposite directions. Beige Blonde pairs the brown with more blue, so it deepens your blonde coolly. Honey Blonde lets the red and yellow lead, so it warms instead. Same depth pigment, opposite temperature result.
Will it deposit on my natural regrowth and make my root line more obvious?
No. Natural regrowth is unlightened and far less porous, so it takes very little cationic pigment - the deposit concentrates in the lightened lengths. If anything, warming the lightened hair slightly narrows the visual gap between root and length rather than widening it.
Will it stain my towels, my hands or the shower?
Yes, it can, which is why gloves are supplied and recommended. Sandy blonde pigment is far less staining than the vivid shades, but rinse until the water runs completely clear - unrinsed surface pigment is what transfers to towels and pillowcases. Wipe the shower down afterwards.
