Yes, and the reason is structural. The rice and corn starches are suspended in disteardimonium hectorite, a modified clay that controls how the powder lands, so it deposits as a translucent micro-layer instead of concentrating into a white patch. Maria Nila formulate it specifically for both blonde and darker hair.
Is it actually absorbing the oil, or just covering the smell with fragrance?
Yes, it absorbs. Two starches with different granule sizes bind sebum across a wider range than a single-starch formula, and silica holds that absorbed oil in suspension so it does not migrate back down the shaft. The fragrance is a finish, not the mechanism. Give it a minute before brushing so the binding completes.
I have a fresh toner on my blonde. Will skipping washes with this dull or shift it?

Can I use this on extensions or tape-ins without causing buildup at the bonds?
Yes, with one adjustment. Spray between the rows rather than straight at the attachment points, because any starch that packs in around a bond or tape is slower to brush free. Keep the can at least 15 cm away and brush through properly afterwards, and it clears without residue.
