Apply to freshly shampooed, towel-dried hair — not soaking wet. Excess water dilutes the pigment and gives you an uneven result. Section the hair and work the mask from mid-lengths to ends first, then bring it through the roots. If you're targeting very yellow roots, apply there last so they get the least processing time (roots are usually warmer and more resistant than ends). Rinse with cool water to seal the cuticle and lock in the tone.
Not the Right Fit If...
