How to use

Moda stylist tipApply to damp (not soaking wet) hair — squeezing out excess water before applying helps the Roucou Oil stay in contact with the hair shaft rather than being diluted. Comb through once, leave 2–3 minutes, cool water rinse. The cool rinse is what seals the cuticle and makes the shine visible.

Ask ModaIs OI Conditioner enough on its own, or do I need OI Oil as well?
OI Conditioner is a complete rinse-out step on its own, but OI Oil does something different — it seals the cuticle after blowdrying and adds the final mirror-gloss finish the Conditioner alone cannot achieve. Most clients who want the full OI salon result use both: Conditioner in the shower, Oil on damp or dry hair before or after styling.
How long should I leave OI Conditioner on before rinsing?
One to two minutes is the standard leave-on time and is sufficient for most hair types. For drier or more porous hair, extending to 3–5 minutes increases the frizz-control and softness result. Leaving it on longer than 5 minutes does not significantly improve the result further.
I have fine hair that goes flat easily. Will OI Conditioner weigh it down?
OI Conditioner is one of the lighter conditioners we carry and is used at our backbar on fine hair regularly without volume complaints. Apply only to mid-lengths and ends — not the root area — and rinse thoroughly. Applying to the roots or leaving it on too long are the two most common reasons conditioner flattens fine hair.
Does OI Conditioner protect colour-treated hair?
OI Conditioner is colour-safe and its sulfate-free formulation is gentle enough not to accelerate colour fade. It does not contain the dedicated colour-protective chelating actives found in Davines MINU — if preserving salon colour vibrancy is your primary goal, MINU Conditioner is the more targeted choice. OI Conditioner delivers softness, shine, and frizz control for colour-treated hair.
The OI Conditioner 1000ml is $102 CAD. Is that a better value than the 250ml?
The 1000ml works out to significantly better cost per wash for regular users. At 15–25ml per use, the litre gives approximately 40–65 applications versus roughly 10–16 from the 250ml. If you wash your hair three or more times a week, the litre pays for itself within a few months and is the same professional formula we use at the Moda backbar.
