Ask ModaDoes Nº.10 leave curls crunchy?
No — Nº.10 is a gel that sets with hold but scrunches out to a soft, touchable finish. Apply to soaking wet hair, scrunch to encourage the curl pattern, let air dry or diffuse fully, then scrunch the cast out with dry hands. The crunch is temporary and breaks to a soft hold.
Do I need the Nº.4 CURL shampoo to use Nº.10, or can I use it with my existing OLAPLEX system?
No — Nº.10 works with any OLAPLEX wash routine. If you already use Nº.4 and Nº.5 or Nº.4 CURL and Nº.5 CURL, you can add Nº.10 at the styling step. It's not dependent on using the full Bond Shaper Curl system.
How much Nº.10 should I use for medium-length curly hair?
Yes — start with a golf ball-sized amount for medium-length hair and apply in sections to soaking wet hair for even distribution. Curly hair needs more product than straight hair because of the surface area of the curl pattern. Under-application is a more common issue than over-application.
Can I use Nº.10 with other curl creams or mousses, or should it be used alone?
Yes — layering a curl cream under Nº.10 gel is a common technique. Apply cream first on wet hair for moisture and softness, then Nº.10 on top to set the definition and hold. The gel acts as the sealer over the moisture products.
Is Nº.10 suitable for wavy hair, or is it too much hold?
Yes — Nº.10 can work on wavy hair with a lighter application. Use less than for curly hair and apply to damp rather than soaking wet hair for a softer result. Let air dry or diffuse with low heat to encourage the wave pattern.
