How to use
Use it the way we would.
- Towel-dry washed hair until damp, not dripping.
- Work a small amount into the ends first, then carry the rest up through the mid-lengths.
- Do not rinse. Blow-dry or air-dry as usual.
Moda stylist tipEnds first, mid-lengths with what is left on your hands. Most people do the reverse and the ends that needed sealing get the residue. Apply to towel-dried hair, not soaking hair - too much water and the cyclomethicone evaporates before the actives have deposited anywhere useful.

Ask ModaWill this actually repair my split ends, or do I still need a trim?
No, you still need the trim. A split fibre cannot be rejoined - Maria Nila says this cream seals split ends, and that wording is deliberate. Sealing stops the split travelling further up the shaft and smooths the surface between appointments, which protects your length. It is a holding measure, not a substitute for scissors.
Can I use this as my heat protectant before blow-drying?
No. Maria Nila makes no heat protection claim on this cream, so we will not either. Layer Style & Finish Cream Heat Spray or Structure Repair Bond Builder underneath it before any hot tool - Bond Builder is the one Maria Nila rates to 230C / 450F.
I already use the Bond Builder. Is this leave-in cream redundant?
No, they do different jobs. Bond Builder is a lightweight treatment carrying Maria Nila's bond repair, anti-breakage and heat protection claims. This is a conditioning cream focused on sealing split ends and holding moisture in the last few inches. Bond Builder first, then this over the ends only.
Every leave-in I have tried made my hair look greasy by the afternoon. Will this?
No, provided you keep it off the roots. Cyclomethicone sits second in the formula - it is volatile, so it carries the actives through the hair and then evaporates rather than sitting on the surface like an oil. Apply to the last few inches on towel-dried hair and nothing should read greasy.
Can I apply this to dry hair to tidy up fraying ends mid-week?
Yes, in a very small amount. Maria Nila's directions are for towel-dried hair, which is where it performs best, but a pea-sized amount warmed between the palms and pressed into dry ends on day three will smooth the fray. Do not rake it through - that is what causes more breakage.
