Ask ModaWill the black pigment in No. 307 stain my pillow or shirt collar?
It can transfer if hair makes direct contact with light-coloured fabric while damp or freshly applied. DEPOT® specifically advises avoiding contact with skin and clothing. Allow the gel to dry fully before laying on light-coloured surfaces. It washes out of most fabrics, but applying at least 10–15 minutes before dressing reduces transfer risk significantly.
My grey is only at the temples. Will No. 307 look natural blending just those sections?
Yes — targeted grey blending is one of No. 307's strongest uses. Work a small amount specifically through the temple sections and blend outward into the surrounding darker hair. The pigment gives a graduated, natural effect rather than a defined colour line, which is particularly effective for dispersed grey at the temples.
How many days does the grey blending effect last? Does it come out in one wash?
The effect washes out with one thorough shampoo — it's designed to be fully temporary. With each application, the result is fresh. There's no cumulative build-up of pigment over multiple uses. This makes it genuinely commitment-free: apply before an event or meeting, wash it out the same evening.
I have salt-and-pepper hair rather than fully grey. Will No. 307 make the darker sections look different?
No. The black pigment in No. 307 is most visible on white and grey hair — it interacts with the absence of melanin. On existing dark or black hair, the pigment adds minimal visible change, meaning the salt-and-pepper pattern is blended rather than completely eliminated. The result is enriched, darker-looking hair overall with the grey sections specifically toned down.
Is No. 307 something I need to apply every single day, or can I skip days and just use it when I want the coverage?
Use it whenever you want the coverage — there's no schedule required. No. 307 works independently each time it's applied and washes out the same day. Many clients use it for specific occasions rather than daily — meetings, events, or photos — then go without it on casual days. Completely flexible.
