Ask ModaI have fine, flat hair. Will No. 308 actually add visible volume or is it mostly just hold?
Both — the fixative polymers in No. 308 are specifically calibrated to build body alongside hold. Applied to towel-dried hair before blow-drying, the polymers activate with heat and expand to add physical structure and lift to the hair shaft. For fine hair, concentrate application at the root and blow-dry upward for maximum lift.
How is No. 308 different from No. 304 Hold Strong Gel? They're both gels.
Different purpose and result. No. 304 is a strong-hold gel focused on lasting control and precise style retention. No. 308 is a medium-hold volumising gel focused on body, movement, and shine. No. 308 is also formulated with Aloe Vera, Sorbitol, and UV filter for conditioning during the hold, which No. 304 doesn't prioritise.
Can I use No. 308 without blow-drying and still get volume?
Yes, though the volume effect is more pronounced with blow-drying. Air-drying with No. 308 applied to towel-dried hair still delivers body and a medium hold result. For air-dry volume, scrunch the product into the hair rather than distributing flat.
Will No. 308 leave my hair feeling crunchy or stiff when it dries?
No. The medium-hold polymer system in No. 308 is designed to feel flexible and natural when dry — not rigid or crunchy. If applied too heavily the result can feel slightly more structured; reduce the amount and the hair retains its natural movement.
The Aloe vera and sorbitol in No. 308 — are these actually doing anything or just filler ingredients?
Both are functional. Sorbitol is a humectant that draws moisture from the air into the hair shaft, maintaining hydration during the hold. Aloe vera juice provides a conditioning and hydrating action alongside it. They're specifically included because hold products can dehydrate the hair — these two counteract that in the formula.
