The waxes (Sculpting 3/5, Fixating 4/5, Extreme 5/5) give firmer, more structured hold and are designed mainly for short hair. The Styling Paste has a light 2/5 hold with neutral shine, adds body and texture without weight, and works on long hair as well as short — for an effortless, undone, reworkable look rather than a firm set style. Choose the paste for flexible everyday texture and volume on any length; choose a wax for firm hold and definition on short hair.
Can I use it on long hair?
Yes — this is one of the things that sets it apart. Most pastes and waxes are aimed at short hair, but the Styling Paste is specifically designed for both long and short hair. On long hair, it adds body, texture, and that piecey, lived-in movement without weighing the lengths down or looking greasy. Warm a small amount in your palms and scrunch or work it through dry lengths for texture, or use it on damp hair as a light styling base. It's a rare texturiser that long-haired clients can actually use.
Damp or dry hair?
Both work, for different effects. On dry hair, it gives a textured, piecey, separated finish — great for adding definition and that undone look to a finished style. On damp hair, it acts as a flexible styling base you build on as you dry and style. Whichever you choose, warm a small amount between your palms first so it distributes evenly rather than clumping. Start with a little and add more if needed.
Is it sticky or heavy?
No — it's designed to be flexible and lightweight, adding body and texture without stickiness or weight. Reviewers who've found other waxes and pomades leave hair drooping or greasy note that this paste holds without that heaviness.
