Wet the hair thoroughly before applying — curly and wavy hair has a more compact structure and needs full saturation before the shampoo can distribute evenly. Work the shampoo into the scalp with fingertips (not nails), using small circular motions, and let the lather rinse through the lengths as you rinse rather than working the lengths aggressively. Curly hair loses most of its definition not from product failure but from mechanical disruption during the wash — keep the handling of the lengths gentle.
