I would recommend it when your curls either puff out, lose definition or feel dry by the time they are fully dry, and you want more defined, softer, more touchable curl movement.
It should not feel heavy when you use it where your hair actually needs it. If your hair is fine, start with less product and keep richer formulas away from the root unless the product is specifically for scalp or volume support.
Massage Love Curl Shampoo & Conditioner 1000ml into the scalp first, not the ends. Let the lather do the work at the root, then rinse through the lengths. If your hair has buildup, oil or styling product in it, shampoo twice before judging the result.
