The pre-reformulation MOMO system — the version that uses Paceco Cartucciaru Yellow Melon Extract (Slow Food Presidium, Sicily) as its hero active. The Yellow Melon extract is rich in water, vitamins, and mineral salts that promote prolonged hydration. The shampoo has a distinctive transparent gel texture that develops into a lightweight airy foam. Scent: verdant fig leaves, delicate florals, and comforting amber and cedar notes.
This is the formulation clients who have been using MOMO for years will recognise. It is being phased out as Davines transitions the full Essential Haircare range to Regenerative Organic Certified™ ingredient sourcing. Once this stock is gone, it will not be restocked — the new formulation is the permanent replacement. Fewer than 50 units remaining.

Variant: New Formulation with PUMPS
The current MOMO formula, updated as part of Davines' Essentials 2.0 reformulation programme across the Essential Haircare range. The hero ingredient is now Regenerative Organic Certified™ Apricot Extract (Prunus Armeniaca), sourced from Mr. Francesco Travaglini's farm in Larino, Campobasso, Italy. ROC certification means fully traceable supply chain, above-market pricing to the farmer, and regenerative agricultural practices.
The Apricot Extract contains polysaccharides that lock moisture into the hair shaft, and Vitamin A that promotes soft, nourished hair. The new conditioner is a fast-acting formula — leave 30 seconds, comb through, rinse — rather than the longer-contact format of the original. Clinical: up to 11.8x more hydrated hair when used as the full MOMO system (shampoo, conditioner, and serum vs. untreated hair). Scent updated to sun-drenched Mediterranean fig, creamy citrus, and cedarwood.

Which Formulation Is Right for You?
- Choose Original Formulation if you are a long-time MOMO client who prefers the Yellow Melon formula and wants to stock up before it is gone. This is a final clearance — no restock.
- Choose New Formulation if you are new to MOMO, or if you want the current formula with ROC certification, the updated 30-second conditioner, and the clinical 11.8x hydration result. This is the formula Davines is producing going forward.
What Both Formulations Share
Both the original and new MOMO formulas are designed for the same hair concern: dry or dehydrated hair that needs moisture without heaviness. Both are sulphate-free, paraben-free, and vegan. Both work on fine to medium hair. Both are made in Italy. The difference is the hero moisturising ingredient, the conditioner contact time, and the scent.
How To Use

MOMO Shampoo: Apply to wet hair. Massage from scalp through lengths. Rinse. Repeat if needed.

MOMO Conditioner (Original Formulation): Apply to damp hair from mid-lengths to ends. Leave 2–3 minutes. Comb through. Rinse thoroughly.
