Moda stylist tipPink shows best on a pale, pre-lightened base — the lighter and more even the blonde, the truer the pink. For a soft pastel, mix with White Mix; leave the pure shade longer for a bold pop. Fashion pinks can fade a little faster and may tint pillowcases when hair is damp early on. Strand-test and wear gloves (pink stains skin and light hair). Won't lighten; tell your colourist before bleaching.

Ask ModaDo I need to bleach my hair for the pink to show?
For a true, vivid pink, yes — you need a pale, pre-lightened blonde base, because the pigment tints the hair rather than lightening it. The lighter and more even your blonde, the truer and brighter the pink. On mid or dark hair, Pink Pop shows little to nothing. You don't have to bleach specifically for it if you're already blonde or pre-lightened. A strand test shows exactly how it'll look on your base before you commit to the whole head.
Can I make a soft pastel pink instead?
Yes — mix Pink Pop with the Colour Refresh White Mix (an unpigmented nourishing mask) to dilute it into a soft, pretty pastel pink. The more White Mix you add, the softer the result. You can also shorten the leave-in time. Pastels show best on very pale blonde. For a bold, saturated pink instead, use Pink Pop on its own and leave it on longer. You can also mix it with other Colour Refresh shades to create custom tones.
Will it transfer onto pillowcases or clothes?
Vivid fashion pinks can transfer a little, especially in the first day or two and when the hair is damp (from sweat, rain, or a shower). To minimise it, rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear, make sure hair is fully dry before bed, and use dark or old pillowcases at first. Any transfer usually settles after the initial period as excess surface pigment washes away. Wearing gloves during application and wiping skin promptly also keeps staining down.
Is it damaging, and can I bleach over it later?
It's not damaging — it's a conditioning treatment with Argan Oil, Provitamin B5, and nourishing ingredients that leaves hair soft and glossy. But always tell your hairdresser if you've used Colour Refresh, especially a fashion pink, before any bleaching or lightening. Fashion pigments can linger on pale hair, and residual colour can affect or discolour a bleach result, so your colourist needs to know to plan the service correctly.
