Ask ModaIs RICA Unique Matt Clay suitable for fine hair?
Yes, with a light hand. Use a very small amount — less than you think — and work through warm palms before applying. The clay adds texture and definition to fine hair without adding visible weight when used correctly.
Can I use RICA Unique Matt Clay on damp hair?
It performs best on dry hair. On damp hair, the clay distributes differently and the matte effect is reduced. For blow-dry prep, use the Thickening Cream or Plumping Mousse instead, and apply the clay after the style is dry.
How much RICA Unique Matt Clay do I use?
For short hair, the size of a small pea is typically enough. Warm it in your palms for about 20 seconds until it becomes transparent and slightly tacky, then work through from roots to ends. You can always add more, but too much on the first pass is hard to fix.
Does RICA Unique Matt Clay wash out easily?
Yes — it washes out with your regular shampoo. The formula is water-soluble despite its strong texture and matte hold during wear.
How is RICA Unique Matt Clay different from RICA Defining Hair Gel?
Matt Clay is for matte texture and flexible definition on dry short to medium hair. The Defining Gel is for high-shine, strong hold on damp or dry hair for sleek polished styles. Matte and textured vs. shiny and sleek — they serve completely different style goals.
