No — it does more than shine. ILLUMINATE Complex improves colour fastness, which means it actively reduces how much colour washes out during the conditioning step. Shine is a side benefit. The primary function is keeping colour molecules in the hair shaft for longer, which is what makes the Rinse part of a colour-protection system rather than just a standard conditioner.
Yes — the system works better together. The Wash handles mineral chelation and initial cuticle closing. The Rinse adds the ILLUMINATE Complex for colour fastness during conditioning and Hydrolyzed Rice Protein for strength. Using both creates a more complete barrier — the complexes are designed to layer across both steps.
