Ask ModaIs Shimmer Me Blonde the right choice for my grey hair, or should I use Shimmer Shine instead?
Yes — Shimmer Me Blonde is specifically designed for blonde and grey tones. The silver mica crystals reflect cooler, brighter light on blonde and grey hair, and a subtle violet tint catches any remaining yellow. Shimmer Shine uses gold mica and works on all hair colours but is less targeted for toned blondes and greys. If your hair is blonde, highlighted or grey, Shimmer Me Blonde is the right one.
Can I use Shimmer Me Blonde on dark or brunette hair?
It will work for shine, but the silver mica is designed to read on lighter tones. On dark hair, the brightening effect is barely visible and the violet tint adds nothing useful. Shimmer Shine with gold mica crystals is the better choice for brunettes and darker hair — it is the same leave-in shine format but formulated for any colour.
Do I need to twirl Shimmer Me Blonde before every use or just the first time?
Every use. The silver mica crystals settle to the bottom quickly. If you spray without twirling, most of what comes out is carrier liquid with minimal mica — you get less shine than the product is capable of. A few twirls before each use takes two seconds and makes a visible difference in the result.
Will Shimmer Me Blonde make my hair look glittery or is the shimmer subtle?
Subtle. The mica crystals are fine enough that on the head, after combing through, the result reads as high shine and brightness rather than visible glitter. You will not look like you have product in your hair — you will look like your hair is in very good condition. Some reviewers say they cannot see the shimmer at all; others love the luminosity. The optical brighteners and Babassu Oil are doing as much of the visual work as the mica.
Is Shimmer Me Blonde a toning product or just a shine spray?
Primarily a shine spray. The subtle violet tint catches residual yellow between washes but it is not a replacement for Blonde Angel Wash or conditioner for actual tone correction. Think of it as a brightness maintenance step after the real toning work has been done in the shower — it keeps the result looking fresh between wash days.
