The Strength Cure Blonde system solves both in the same wash routine. Purple Orchid toning pigments neutralise yellow and brassy warmth using colour-wheel principles — the same technique a professional toner uses in the salon — while Keravis and Astaxanthin rebuild strength and protect the fragile structure that bleaching compromises.
The shampoo and conditioner are designed as a paired toning-and-repair system — not a purple shampoo with an unrelated conditioner added on. Pureology recommends using the system 1–3 times a week (or every third wash), alternating with the regular Strength Cure system on non-toning days for continued repair without over-depositing pigment. The 1000 ml Pro Duo is the same formula at approximately 30% better cost per wash for committed Strength Cure Blonde clients. The shampoo deposits Purple Orchid toning pigments during the cleanse step while the Keravis and Astaxanthin begin their strengthening work. Use 1–3 times per week, not every wash. Over-toning builds up and can shift very porous or fine blonde hair ashy or flat. The sweet spot is enough toning to stay ahead of brassiness without over-depositing — and that frequency varies by how porous the hair is and how quickly the warmth returns. Start with every third wash and adjust. On non-toning days, use the regular Strength Cure Shampoo and Conditioner to keep the repair work going.
