Routine step
Why we like it
The Moda Team Review
The step that makes the MOMO routine's hydration last. The shampoo and conditioner work in the shower; the Serum locks the moisture in and carries it through the blow-dry and into the day. Without it, even good hydration from the wash routine starts to feel diminished by afternoon.

The client using MOMO Shampoo and Conditioner who notices improvement on wash days but finds the hair feels dry again by day two. She is missing the third step. MOMO Serum applied to towel-dried hair before blow-drying seals the moisture in and it stays — the hair holds its condition noticeably longer between washes. Davines is B-Corp certified, family-owned, made in Italy. The Apricot Extract in MOMO Serum comes from Mr. Francesco Travaglini's certified regenerative farm in Larino, Campobasso — the same Slow Food network source running through every product in the MOMO line.

How to use
Use it the way we would.
- Apply MOMO Serum through damp mid-lengths and ends before styling. If your hair is fine, use less than you think and keep it away from the root. If your hair is thick or dry, add a little more through the areas that feel rough or frizzy.
Moda stylist tipApply 5 pumps to towel-dried hair on medium length or shorter hair; scale to 10 pumps on longer or denser dry hair. Comb through from ends to roots before blow-drying — this ensures the moisture-locking film is evenly distributed before the heat activates it. Do not apply to the root area on fine hair to avoid flatness.

Questions? We get them.
Good to know.
The questions we hear most about this product. If yours isn’t here, a real stylist will answer.
Ask ModaMy hair is fine and dry. Won’t a serum make it greasy or flat?
No. MOMO Serum is a lightweight water-based formula rather than an oil or emollient-heavy serum. Applied to damp mid-lengths and ends only — and kept away from the root — it seals in moisture without the greasy feel or volume collapse that oil-based leave-ins cause on fine hair.
Is MOMO Serum a heat protectant, or do I still need a separate one?
MOMO Serum provides heat protection as part of its formula, but it’s primarily a hydration-locking leave-in. For high-heat tools above 200°C used frequently, pairing it with a dedicated heat protectant adds an extra layer of protection. For standard blow-drying and everyday heat, the serum alone is sufficient.
Can I use MOMO Serum on dry hair to refresh between washes, or only on wet hair?
MOMO Serum works best applied to damp hair as a styling step. On dry hair, a small amount can be smoothed through ends to tame frizz or add softness, but the primary hydration benefit activates when the cuticle is open and receptive — which happens when hair is damp.
Do I need the full MOMO routine — shampoo, conditioner and serum — or does the serum work on its own?
The serum works as a standalone leave-in over any shampoo and conditioner, but the efficacy data showing 11.8x more hydration is based on the full MOMO routine. Each step builds on the last — the shampoo prepares the cortex, the conditioner adds moisture, the serum seals it in. Using all three gives the compounded result.
The MOMO Serum is $39 for 150ml. How long does it last with regular use?
For shoulder-length fine to medium hair using roughly 3–5ml per application on damp ends only, 150ml lasts approximately 30–50 washes. For clients washing three or four times a week, that's two to four months per bottle.
