Ask ModaI have a very long beard. How many drops do I actually need to condition it properly?
For a long beard (below the chin), 5–8 drops is typically appropriate — start with 5 and add more if the ends feel under-conditioned. Work in sections from the skin outward rather than just running through the surface. The oil should be distributed from root to tip, not just on the visible outer layer. A beard comb or brush helps reach the inner layers.
Which of the three fragrances lasts the longest on the beard?
Fragrance longevity varies by individual skin chemistry, but Leather & Wood typically has the most persistent scent profile among the three. Mysterious Vanilla is the warmest and most skin-blending. Ginger & Cardamom is the freshest and slightly more volatile. All three are in the DEPOT® masculine scent tradition — masculine, sophisticated, and well-composed.
Can I use No. 505 on my hair as well as my beard?
Yes, though No. 202 Complete Leave-In Conditioner is a more targeted product for hair conditioning. No. 505 is a conditioning oil blend optimised for the coarser beard hair fibre and sensitive facial skin. On scalp hair, a few drops worked through the mid-lengths and ends works as a conditioning finishing oil, but it's not formulated as a primary hair treatment.
My beard feels coarse and wiry. How long will it take using No. 505 daily before I notice a difference?
Most clients notice the beard feeling softer and more manageable within the first 1–2 weeks of daily use. Visible improvement in coarseness requires consistent use over 3–4 weeks, as the conditioning oils need time to accumulate their effect on the beard hair fibre. The skin underneath typically shows improvement faster than the beard hair itself.
Is No. 505 safe to use if I have sensitive or acne-prone skin under my beard?
The formula is designed for facial skin use including the skin underneath the beard. If you have acne-prone skin, apply primarily to the beard hair rather than directly to the skin surface and start with a small amount to assess your skin's response. If any reaction occurs, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist.
