Ask ModaCan I use the Davines ENERGIZING Gel on an oily scalp?
Yes. The formula has a balancing action that works on oily-tending scalps as well as dry ones. It stimulates and regulates simultaneously — clients with oily scalp dealing with thinning find it effective without adding heaviness or excess sebum.
Does the Davines ENERGIZING Gel make hair feel stiff or sticky?
No. It is a lightweight, clear gel applied directly to the scalp. Once distributed, there is no stiffness, tackiness, or visible product residue on the hair shaft.
Should I use the ENERGIZING Gel with the ENERGIZING Shampoo, or can I pair it with my current shampoo?
For best results, pair it with the ENERGIZING Shampoo. Davines formulates the line as a system — the shampoo primes the scalp and the Gel provides extended Caffeine contact time in the leave-in phase. A non-Davines shampoo will not contraindicate it, but consistency in actives matters.
How long does one tube of Davines ENERGIZING Gel last at daily use?
At daily use on medium-length hair, the 100ml tube typically lasts 6–8 weeks. A small amount distributes well per application when applied directly to scalp sections after shampooing.
Is the ENERGIZING Gel a replacement for the Superactive serums, or do they work together?
They work together. The Gel treats the scalp broadly with a leave-in stimulating action. The Superactives (androgenetic or seasonal) are more targeted serum treatments. For clients with a specific hair loss concern, all three can be used in one routine — the Gel is not a substitute for the Superactives.
