Yes — that's exactly what Honey Blonde is for. Over-using purple shampoo or cool toners can leave blonde looking flat, dull, ashy, or even slightly grey, and some blondes just go mousy and lifeless as they fade. Honey Blonde re-deposits warm, sandy, golden tone to bring the life and dimension back. It's the warm counterpart to the cool toners in the range. Leave it on longer for more warmth. A strand test first shows how much golden tone it adds to your particular blonde.
When would I use this instead of a cool toner?
Use Honey Blonde when your blonde is too cool, ashy, or flat and you want to warm it up. Use a cool toner (Pearl Silver, Cool Cream, or Beige Blonde) when your blonde is too warm, yellow, or brassy and you want to cool it down. They solve opposite problems. If you've over-toned with purple products and gone too ashy or grey, Honey Blonde is the corrective; if you're battling brassiness, reach for the cool shades. You can even mix a little Honey Blonde into a cool result to balance it.
Will it lighten my hair or cover grey?
No to both. It only deposits warm blonde tone — it can't lighten, as it has no bleach. And the semi-permanent pigments don't cover grey (results on grey vary and aren't recommended). Honey Blonde adds warmth to existing blonde at levels 7–10; it works best on already-light hair. On darker hair the effect is subtle to none, so a strand test is important to see how the warmth reads on your base.
Is it damaging, and can I bleach over it later?
It's not damaging — it's a conditioning treatment with Argan Oil, Provitamin B5, and nourishing ingredients that leaves hair soft and glossy. But always tell your hairdresser if you've used Colour Refresh before any bleaching or lightening. Even a warm blonde toner leaves some pigment, which can affect a bleach result, so your colourist needs to know to plan the service correctly.
