How to use
Use it the way we would.
- Shampoo and towel-dry.
- Wear gloves. Apply with a brush, distributing evenly and combing through to the ends.
- Leave on 10-20 minutes depending on desired copper intensity.
- Emulsify, then rinse thoroughly.
- Colour deposit fades out completely after about 6 washes.
Moda stylist tipCopper hair is most porous at the ends — where it fades first and where pigment grips best. Apply ends first, work toward roots, and give roots the least time. This gives the most faded sections maximum correction while keeping the result even.

Yes — fast fade is normal for copper because the pigment molecules are smaller than other colour families and rinse out first. Red Ocher deposits copper mineral pigment with each use to replenish what washes away. Used weekly, most clients extend the vivid life of their colour by 2–3 weeks.
How is Red Ocher different from Red Lava? Which one is for my hair?
Red Ocher is for copper blonde — lighter, brighter copper from strawberry blonde to vivid copper. Red Lava is for deeper red and auburn tones. If your colour is a bright copper or copper-gold, Red Ocher. If it's a rich, dark red or auburn, Red Lava.
Will RICA Cromearth Red Ocher Mask stain my shower, towels, or hands?
Yes, it can — copper and red pigments are among the most likely to stain surfaces. Use a dark towel, rinse your shower immediately after use, and apply with gloves if possible. The pigment rinses cleanly from hair itself, but don't leave it sitting on tile or grout.
Can I use Red Ocher Mask on natural, uncoloured red hair?
Yes — natural copper and red hair also fades in sunlight and from washing. Red Ocher can enhance and maintain natural copper tones. The result on uncoloured hair will be more subtle than on bleached or lightened hair where the pigment grips more readily, but it does add warmth and shine.
How long should I leave RICA Cromearth Red Ocher Mask on for the best copper result?
Five minutes refreshes a faded tone; 10–12 minutes gives a more saturated, vivid copper result. We recommend starting at 8 minutes on your first use to understand how your hair responds, then adjusting from there. Very porous or bleached hair will absorb pigment faster — start at the lower end of the range.
