Ask ModaWhat is RICA Volume Powder and how is it different from a dry shampoo?
Rica Volume Powder is a styling powder for instant root lift and matte grip. RICA Dry Shampoo absorbs oil and refreshes the style. Volume Powder creates volume and texture specifically at the root — use it when the style is clean but flat, not when hair is oily. Both can be used together.
How do I apply RICA Volume Powder without creating a white cast?
Tap a small amount onto the roots — two or three taps per section — then massage through immediately with fingertip pressure. The massage distributes and blends the powder into the hair before it can sit visibly on the surface. More than a few taps without massaging creates a white cast, especially on dark hair.
Can I use RICA Volume Powder on thick or coarse hair?
It works best on fine to medium hair where the powder can reach the scalp and create lift directly. On very thick or dense hair, the powder may not distribute evenly to the scalp through the density. Parting the hair into sections before applying will improve results on thicker hair.
Can I use RICA Volume Powder on freshly washed hair?
Yes — Volume Powder works on clean hair as a post-blowout root-lift step. It does not need oil to bind to the way a dry shampoo does. Apply to dry hair after styling to add instant grip and lift at the root.
Will RICA Volume Powder wash out easily?
Yes — it rinses out with your regular shampoo. If you use it daily, ensure you are cleansing thoroughly on wash days to prevent any residue from accumulating at the scalp over time.
