Why we like it

The Moda Team Review

ENERGIZING Shampoo is the cleanse step we recommend the moment a client starts noticing more hair in the brush or less density at the root. It's not a cosmetic shampoo — it's the foundation of a treatment protocol. The Caffeine and Peppermint combination starts working at the follicle level during every wash, and Davines has a specific alternation schedule that gets the best clinical result. Following the protocol correctly is what separates real improvement from marginal results.

Good to know.

Ask Moda
Does the Davines ENERGIZING Shampoo need to be used on a specific protocol, or can I use it daily?

A protocol matters. Davines specifies every other day for the first month (intensive phase), then twice per week alternating with RENEWING Shampoo for the following two months. This rotation prevents the scalp from acclimating to the formula and maintains the Caffeine and Peppermint actives' effectiveness over time.

Will the ENERGIZING Shampoo strip my Moda colour service?

No. The formula is free from harsh sulphates and is safe for colour-treated hair. Moda recommends it as the anchor of the thinning hair protocol regardless of colour history — the actives work at the scalp and follicle level, not at the colour molecule in the cortex.

Is the tingling sensation from the ENERGIZING Shampoo normal?

Yes. The Peppermint Oil creates a noticeable stimulating sensation at the scalp — this is expected and is part of how the formula signals scalp activation. If it feels uncomfortably intense, dilute slightly with water on first use and build up gradually.

My scalp is both oily and experiencing thinning. Can I still use the ENERGIZING Shampoo?

Yes. The ENERGIZING Shampoo is appropriate for oily scalp with thinning — it cleanses effectively without over-drying. For significant sebum overproduction, the REBALANCING range may be a better anchor shampoo. Your Moda stylist can help assess the right primary cleanser at your next visit.

I use a lot of dry shampoo between washes. Will the ENERGIZING Shampoo remove buildup properly?

Yes. It has sufficient cleansing power for product-heavy scalps. For significant buildup before starting the ENERGIZING protocol, the DETOXIFYING Scrub Shampoo is the stronger reset option and can be used once every 1–2 weeks before returning to the ENERGIZING routine.
