I currently use a two-in-one shampoo. Is switching to No. 101 actually going to make a difference?
Yes. Two-in-ones use conditioning agents that coat the hair to compensate for harsh surfactants — No. 101 uses delicate surfactants that don't strip, so conditioning agents aren't needed to offset them. The result is a genuinely clean scalp with the Pro-Vitamin B5 and sage oil supporting scalp health without residue.
I style my hair with gel every day. Will No. 101 actually remove product buildup or do I need something stronger?
Yes. The balanced surfactant blend in No. 101 is designed for effective daily cleansing including product removal. If styling product has accumulated over several days without washing, lather twice for the first wash. For heavy-hold waxes or pastes, a second lather cycle is usually sufficient.
What's the scent like? I don't like perfumed hair products.
The scent is botanical and masculine — coming from the Eucalyptol and sage essential oil in the formula, not added synthetic fragrance. It's refreshing rather than heavily perfumed, and doesn't linger strongly after rinsing. Men who prefer a clean, functional scent rather than a cologne-heavy product typically find it well-suited.
I have a normal scalp but my ends get dry. Is No. 101 the right shampoo or should I use No. 103?
No. 101 is the right choice — it's formulated for a normal, balanced scalp and cleanses without stripping. Dry ends are best addressed at the conditioning step rather than the shampoo step. Pair No. 101 with No. 202 Complete Leave-In Conditioner, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends for targeted moisture.
