A weekly reinforcing and brightening treatment mask for blonde, highlighted, or grey hair β the Biacidic Bond Complex repairs disrupted hair bonds while Jagua Blue Extract and Baobab Seed Oil restore tone, softness, and luminosity in 5β10 minutes.
The Moda Team Review
The HOG Intense Treatment is the deep repair step in the Heart of Glass system β the product we recommend when a client's blonde is doing more than just looking a little dull. Overly porous hair that soaks up moisture and then immediately feels dry again. Ends that have lost elasticity and snap rather than stretch. Hair that's been bleached repeatedly and has hit that threshold where daily conditioner alone isn't enough to maintain the fibre. This is the product for that hair.
The Biacidic Bond Complex at higher concentration than in the Rich Conditioner β that's what separates a treatment mask from a conditioner. The contact time (5β10 minutes) gives the bond complex the window it needs to actually work on the disrupted disulfide bonds that bleaching and oxidative colour create. The Jagua Blue Extract continues the tonal balancing. The result after consistent weekly use is blonde that feels structurally different β more elasticity, better shine, less frizz β not just temporarily coated.
Why Moda Carries This
At Moda, Davines is the treatment line we use behind the chair for every blonde client who needs a repair step. The HOG Intense Treatment is the product we finish bleach services with, recommend to clients going longer between appointments, and include in every take-home conversation where hair is showing structural damage. We have seen the consistent use results on our own clients.
Key Active Ingredients
-
Biacidic Bond Complex (Maleic Acid + Thioctamidoethyl Dimethylamine Maleate): Davines' patented bond-repair system. Targets disrupted disulfide bonds from bleaching and oxidative colour. Works at higher concentration in this treatment than in the everyday Rich Conditioner β needs 5β10 minutes contact time.
-
Jagua Blue Extract (Genipa Americana, Colombia): Plant-based tonal balancing without synthetic violet dyes. Continues the tone work begun in the Chelating Shampoo.
-
Hydrolyzed Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) Seed Extract: Film-forming botanical that smooths the cuticle and adds intense softness. Works with Babassu Seed Oil to leave hair noticeably silkier post-rinse.
-
Orbignya Oleifera (Babassu) Seed Oil: Lightweight penetrating oil that nourishes without coating. Adds luminosity and softness to the lengths and ends where damage is most concentrated.
Moda Pro Tip
The most common mistake clients make with this treatment: not leaving it on long enough. The Biacidic Bond Complex needs contact time β the full 5 to 10 minutes, not 60 seconds before rinsing. Apply to towel-dried hair (not wet β dilution is the enemy of a treatment mask), clip up, finish your shower, then rinse. For heavily bleached or very porous hair, we also recommend applying to damp sections under a processing cap for the first few uses to ensure even penetration.
Not the Right Fit If...
Not a substitute for a professional in-salon bond treatment (Olaplex, K18) on severely compromised hair β this is a maintenance product for weekly at-home use, not a corrective service. Hair that has passed the elasticity test and has breakage at the root, or hair that snaps immediately under minimal tension, should be assessed in the salon before building a home routine around repair treatments.
How To Use
- After washing with HOG Silkening Chelating Shampoo, remove excess water from hair.
- Apply to towel-dried lengths and ends. Do not apply to roots.
- Leave on for 5β10 minutes. For extra penetration, comb through and apply a processing cap.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- On weeks where hair is in better condition, substitute with HOG Rich Conditioner as the regular conditioning step and use the Treatment on a rotational basis.
