Kevin Murphy Blonde Angel
A toning conditioner for blonde, highlighted and grey hair — this is the conditioning half of the Blonde Angel system, not just a standard rinse.
The Moda Team Review: The Conditioner That Actually Tones
Most of our blonde clients are used to purple shampoo doing the heavy lifting and the conditioner just being a conditioner. Blonde Angel flips that. The treatment is highly pigmented — more pigmented than the shampoo, actually — and it does real toning work while it conditions. For thick, dry or colour-processed blonde hair especially, this is where the real shift happens.
What separates it from a standard conditioner is the combination: Mango Seed Butter, Shea Butter and Murumuru Butter deliver serious moisture to hair that has been lightened repeatedly, while the violet pigment keeps brassiness from creeping back in. You get condition and tone in the same step, which is the point of the whole Blonde Angel system.
Why Our Stylists Recommend It
We use this with clients whose blonde hair is dry, coarse or heavily processed — the kind of hair that needs real moisture, not just a purple toning spray. It also works for fine blonde hair, but application matters more: mid-lengths to ends only, and shorter contact time to avoid over-toning at the root. Pair it with Blonde Angel Wash every time you use the wash. For extra brightness after styling, Shimmer Me Blonde adds a finish-level toning boost without any additional conditioning weight.
How We Apply It
After shampooing, squeeze excess water from mid-lengths and ends before applying — diluted conditioner on saturated hair deposits less pigment and less conditioning benefit. Apply from mid-lengths to ends, comb through gently, and leave 1 to 3 minutes. For a deeper toning result, leave up to 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with cool water. Keep off the root on fine hair — not because it will damage, but because fine hair at the root does not need extra conditioning weight.
Moda Stylist Tip
This product stains. The violet pigment is intense and it will colour your shower, your hands and a white towel if you are not careful. Rinse the shower immediately after use and rinse your hands before they touch anything. That is not a complaint — it is the reason it actually tones — but it is worth knowing before the first wash.
Key Ingredients
Mango Seed Butter: Lightweight nourishment for fine or normal blonde hair without heaviness.
Shea Butter: Deeper moisture for thick, coarse or heavily bleached blonde hair.
Murumuru Seed Butter: Restores elasticity — particularly useful for repeated chemical processing.
Sunflower Seed Oil + Brazil Nut Oil: Antioxidant shine support and colour longevity.
Violet Pigment: High-concentration toning — stronger than the wash — deposits cool tone during the conditioning step.
Is This Right for You?
Not right if: your blonde is freshly toned and you do not need correction yet. Not right if: over-toning is already a concern — shorten the contact time rather than switching products. If your hair is very fine, the Angel Rinse (from the ANGEL volume line) conditions without toning — use Blonde Angel when you specifically need tone correction alongside condition.
Build Your Routine
Pair with Blonde Angel Wash every toning wash day. Follow with Shimmer Me Blonde spray after styling for an additional brightness boost. On non-toning wash days, Angel Rinse is a solid alternative if your hair is fine and you want volume without additional pigment.
