Extra strong — the strongest hold product in the Rica men’s range. It is designed for styles that need to stay firmly in place through the entire day without adjustment. If you need flexible or reworkable hold, the Crystal Pomade or Grooming Clay are more appropriate.
Will RICA Scrunch Gel flake?
Not when used in the right amount. Apply to damp or dry hair and distribute evenly — too much gel concentrated in one area can flake as it dries. Using the correct amount and working it through evenly eliminates flaking.
Can RICA Scrunch Gel be used on curly hair for curl definition?
Yes — the scrunch technique — scrunching gel into wet curls and leaving to air-dry — is where this product gets its name. Apply to soaking wet hair section by section and scrunch upward to encourage the curl pattern. The hold locks the curl in place as it dries.
Does RICA Scrunch Gel wash out easily?
Yes — water-soluble and rinses out with a standard shampoo. No heavy residue or buildup with daily use.
Can I use RICA Scrunch Gel and a styling paste or clay together?
Not typically — Scrunch Gel is a complete hold product on its own. Layering a paste or clay on top of a gel may create product build-up and uneven texture. Use one or the other based on the finish you want: gel for definition and maximum hold, clay or paste for matte texture and natural movement.
