Yes — the plant-derived surfactants cleanse the scalp and hair effectively despite the gentle oil texture. It's not a clarifying shampoo and won't remove significant product buildup in one pass, but as a daily or regular cleanser for normal to dry hair it cleans thoroughly while leaving hair feeling conditioned rather than stripped.
No — the oil-texture is activated by the surfactants and water to rinse clean, leaving a nourished rather than greasy result. Emulsify between wet palms before applying for the cleanest rinse. The Safflower Oil nourishment stays in the hair and skin fibre; the excess rinses away with the surfactant.
It's better suited to normal or dry scalps. Oily scalps typically need a more targeted sebum-controlling cleanser — the REBALANCING Shampoo is the more appropriate choice for oily scalp clients. The Nectar is ideal for balanced to dry scalps where cleansing without stripping is the priority.
For fine or normal hair, the Nectar alone often leaves hair soft enough to skip conditioner on the same wash — the Safflower Oil provides the conditioning effect during cleansing. For dry or damaged hair, following with a targeted conditioner or the Authentic Nourishing Oil through the ends will give a more complete result.
