No — On Lock uses a natural wax formula with a matte finish rather than a shiny or slick result. Emulsify a small amount between palms until warm before applying — this distributes the wax more evenly and prevents clumping.
How much On Lock Wax should I use?
Yes — less than you think. A pea-sized amount for short hair, slightly more for medium. Wax is one of the most commonly over-applied styling products. Start with less and add if the hold isn't enough.
Can I use On Lock Wax on dry hair or does it need to be applied to damp hair?
Yes — On Lock works on both damp and dry hair. On dry hair for texture and definition of an existing style. On damp hair for hold that sets as the hair dries.
Is On Lock difficult to wash out?
No — the natural wax formula rinses out with regular shampoo. For clients using wax regularly, a monthly Reset Clarifying session removes any accumulated residue.
Can I use On Lock Wax on medium-length hair or is it best for short hair?
Yes — medium-length hair works well with a small amount for texture and definition on ends and mid-lengths. Avoid applying all the way up through long lengths, where wax builds up unevenly and is difficult to distribute without over-applying.
