Yes — Water Sign is a moisture-focused hydrating oil for dry hair. Superfruit Star is an antioxidant oil with heat protection up to 230°C. Choose Water Sign when moisture and softness are the priority. Choose Superfruit Star when heat protection is the priority alongside shine.
Will Water Sign Oil weigh down my hair?
No — if used in the right amount. Water Sign absorbs into the hair rather than coating it. A pea-sized amount for medium hair, focused on mid-lengths and ends. Over-applying is the main cause of heaviness with any oil.
Can I use Water Sign Oil on damp hair before blow-drying?
Yes — applying a small amount to damp hair before blow-drying smooths and conditions mid-lengths and ends during drying. For a dedicated heat protectant, add The Wizard or Blockade as well.
Is Water Sign Oil good for dry scalp, or just for the hair ends?
No — apply to mid-lengths and ends only, not the scalp. For scalp dryness, the Amika Reset Pink Charcoal Oil is designed for scalp application. Styling oils on the scalp contribute to buildup and flatness.
How is Water Sign Oil different from a leave-in conditioner?
Yes — a leave-in conditioner provides moisture and detangling through a water-based formula. Water Sign is an oil that seals the cuticle and delivers shine alongside moisture. Both are leave-in, but they work differently. The two can be layered: leave-in first on damp hair, oil on top to seal the moisture in.
